I just finished reading WAKE by Lisa McMann. I must say, I enjoyed it very much. The basic storyline is innovative – a girl who finds herself in other people’s dreams. It’s a coming of age story full of interesting dream sequences, a little dash of romance and some good ole’ teenage angst.
The novel itself was relatively short – a mere 200+ pages, written in a staccato style that made for an outrageously quick read. Personally, I would have liked a little more character development and a little less of the staccato writing style. Regardless, I found WAKE to be a fresh concept in a writing style that could draw reluctant readers to books – never a bad thing. The storyline itself was innovative enough to capture my attention and make me want to keep reading.
WAKE is Lisa McMann’s first novel and part of a three book series. The next installment, FADE is in stores this week and promises to be another good read. Check out more about Lisa McMann and her books at her website.
As ALWAYS, I’d love to hear from you.

Wow that is a interesting concept for a book. I’ll have to look this one up. Thanks!
