Jen Merrill is a Chicago-based blogger and writer. After years of jamming her twice-exceptional son into various school settings that didn’t quite fit, she’s also now a new homeschooler and couldn’t be happier. Well, she could, but that would involve a lengthy vacation with frou-frou drinks and nightly turn-down service. She loves saving documentaries into her Netflix queue, rolling her own sushi, and pretending she’s still as good a flutist as she was back in the day (aka the advanced performance degree that was). When she has something to say, Jen says it at Laughing at Chaos. When she has even more to say, it is shouted into the book she is writing (about raising 2e kids without losing the funny, out Summer 2012, and if you have a title suggestion, she is listening). Her life motto is “If you decide to confide in others, you’ll discover you’re not alone,” she buys wine by the box, and her Walter Mitty fantasy (this week) is to renovate her mid-century home from top to bottom and stay married.
