This week’s Bookanista love features the following:

Now, on to my Bookanista Shout out… The GUARDIAN OF THE GATE by Michelle Zink

Release Date: August 1, 2010

Basic Blurb: (from Amazon)

The ultimate battle between sisters is nearing, and its outcome could have catastrophic consequences. As sixteen year-old Lia Milthorpe searches for a way to end the prophecy, her twin sister Alice hones the skills she’ll need to defeat Lia. Alice will stop at nothing to reclaim her sister’s role in the prophecy, and that’s not the only thing she wants: There’s also Lia’s boyfriend James.

Lia and Alice always knew the Prophecy would turn those closest to them against them. But they didn’t know what betrayal could lead them to do. In the end, only one sister will be left standing.

I like this new direction with covers – the faces, and such. Though, admitedly, I loved her original Prosphesy cover as well.

Fav Line:

She rises when she hears our feet crunch over the gravel, and when I look into her eyes I see the hesitation and fear in their ice-blue depths.

Just beautiful writing…the kind I aspire to!

Why I liked it:

Michelle is a master at crafting a historical book that has the feel of a literary novel, the richness of the historical elements and the intrigue of the paranormal twist. The characters are amazing – fully developed and people you wnt to both root for and hate. Her plot line is equally strong. Just an amazing read!

Where you can find it:

And now – the contest. I interviewed Michelle on Monday and presented a contest for TWO signed books – Prophesy of the Sisters and Guardian of the Gate. Today is the last day to enter (click here). I’m drawing a name right after midnight (PST). So, what are you waiting for??? GO ENTER!!!
